The Drupal project and its community have been undergoing significant changes, embracing the innovation that we’re seeing in the digital/tech space at large. DrupalCons are still the best way to showcase all exciting new innovations and trends.
With the European edition of the 2025 DrupalCon just over a month away, we’ve decided to compile a list of sessions that developers and business owners shouldn’t miss if you want to stay up to date with the latest goings on in Drupal.
If you get the opportunity, you should of course attend all four of the great keynote sessions. In addition to those, here are eight more sessions to add to your schedule for the conference.
Drupal Canvas unleashed: The future of Drupal is here
- When: Tuesday, October 14, 2025 – 14:45 to 15:30 CEST (local time)
- Where: Auditorium (Hall D)
- Track: Drupal CMS
Starting on day one of the DrupalCon, right after Dries’s keynote address, the first session to check out is the presentation of Drupal Canvas (Experience Builder) by key contributors Lauri Timmanee and Bálint Kléri. The production release of Drupal Canvas 1.0 was planned to coincide with this DrupalCon, so this is definitely the session to attend if you want to get familiar with Experience Builder as early as possible.
Drupal CMS now and beyond
- When: Tuesday, October 14, 2025 – 16:00 to 16:45 CEST (local time)
- Where: Room 7 (Hall G2)
- Track: Drupal CMS
Going beyond Experience Builder, this next session from Cristina Chumillas and Pamela Barone will provide attendees with important updates on the current developments of the new Drupal CMS as well as its future roadmap, including Drupal CMS 2.0+.
While Drupal CMS was and is being designed with the beginner experience top of mind, this session can give both newcomers and veterans a unique insight into this new innovation in the Drupal ecosystem.
Why we left Drupal, tried Storyblok, and what happened next
- When: Tuesday, October 14, 2025 – 17:00 to 17:20 (local time)
- Where: Room 6 (Hall G1)
- Track: Clients & Industry Experiences
Pretty much the only downside of the abundance of great sessions is that, well, you just can’t attend all of them. To this end, we wanted to keep (y)our session schedule as diverse and neatly spread out as possible throughout the three main days of the conference.
And, even though we typically refrain from featuring our own team members’ sessions on these kinds of listing, we wanted to highlight our CEO Iztok’s unique take on the decision to move from the tried and true Drupal to a recently hyped up SaaS CMS, and the consequences and lessons learned from that.
From starters to solid Drupal team members: strategies for finding and growing new talent in the Drupal community.
- When: Wednesday, October 15, 2025 – 11:30 to 12:15 CEST (local time)
- Where: Room 4 (-2.42)
- Track: Agency & Business
One of the main challenges and key current priorities in the Drupal community is attracting and retaining new generations of Drupal developers. This session by Jess Vetsuypers and Eline Van Coillie will present proven strategies for finding and growing new talent in the Drupal community, including strategic recruitment, effective onboarding, mentorship & retention, and community & business impact.
From Chaos to Clarity: Planning for success with a Drupal Content Architecture
- When: Wednesday, October 15, 2025 – 17:40 to 18:00 CEST (local time)
- Where: Room 2 (-2.33)
- Track: Coding & Site Building
Flexibility in content management has always been one of Drupal’s core strengths. In this session by Duncan Worrell, attendees will learn how to design a smart content architecture for their Drupal websites to ensure they are scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly. It is intended for both beginners and more experienced Drupalists, helping both of them unlock the full potential of Drupal.
Drupal Business Survey 2025
- When: Thursday, October 16, 2025 – 09:15 to 10:00 CEST (local time)
- Where: Room 1 (-2.32)
- Track: Agency & Business
Kicking off the third and final day of this year’s edition of DrupalCon Europe, we highly recommend checking out Imre Gmelig Meijling's presentation of the 2025 results of the annual Drupal Business Survey, which is definitely an important one due to the recent volatility in the Drupal and agency market.
If you’re a business owner and/or decision maker, you can actually still take part of the survey (completely anonymously) until September 23. This is the perfect way to both share your challenges and open yourself up to new opportunities by learning from experiences from other leaders who have found themselves in similar positions but have been reluctant to share.
Decision-Making at Scale: Behind the Drupal Marketplace Process
- When: Thursday, October 16, 2025 – 10:30 to 10:50 CEST (local time)
- Where: Room 7 (Hall G2)
- Track: Community Health
Another important new initiative that is vital to Drupal’s continued position as a leading CMS platform is the establishment of a Drupal Marketplace, recently announced by Dries at DrupalCon Atlanta 2025 in March, spurring numerous crucial discussions. This session by Palantir’s Tiffany Farriss will provide a behind the scenes look into the decision-making process of creating a marketplace that best serves the wide variety of Drupal users.
Drupal AI - strategy and application
- Thursday, October 16, 2025 - 15:00 to 15:45 CEST (local time)
- Where: Auditorium (Hall D)
- Track: Agency & Business
The final talk we definitely would not want to miss, especially if you’re interested in AI and Drupal (and, let’s be real, you very likely are!). With Drupal being one of the earliest adopters of AI, its AI capabilities have only been improving over the past couple of years. In this session, Christophe Breidert and Frederik Wouters will demonstrate Drupal’s advanced AI capabilities through real-life business scenarios.
Let’s catch up!
We really hope we’ll have the time to catch all of these great sessions we’ve listed in this article, let alone all the other great ones that unfortunately overlap with one of these and/or a keynote speech.
But that’s just the thing – in addition to the great talks, networking is one of the best parts of DrupalCons and other Drupal/open-source events. We love connecting with old-time Drupal friends, as well as making new ones of course.
So, if you’re there, make sure to stop by our booth to chat with Aleš, Iztok or Jure, and don’t forget to pick up some of our regular (and brand new) swag.
See you soon in Vienna – and don’t forget to spread the word to reach as many friends and community members as possible!
